A Happy Amateur Explores the World and its Oceans

Socorro Islands
Another great dive trip, to the Mexican Revillagigedos Islands( the Socorros to those of us who can't pronounce the real name). Our liveaboard boat was the Solmar V, a gleaming teak and polished brass stalwart. Five days of diving in temperate water with some rough seas and murky vis at times. We could hear the humpback whales singing on nearly every dive. We'd jump in the water and giant manta rays would zoom in to play with us, swooping over and around us for an hour and more. They loved feeling our bubbles tickle their underside. Giant mantas in the day, margaritas at night...another unforgettable chapter in the "Why We Dive" book!
